FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tracy Renewable Energy Honored with Two Awards from the Tracy Chamber of Commerce
Tracy, CA – February 17, 2024 – The Tracy Chamber of Commerce presented Tracy Renewable Energy with two certificates of recognition for its outstanding contributions to sustainability at its Tracy, California facility.
Tracy Renewable Energy's facility plays a vital role in the region, providing essential water purification services for the City of Tracy and various local industries, including power plants, wineries, and automotive facilities. In addition, the facility dries agricultural products from local growers for the pet food industry, supporting the local agricultural economy. Currently, the plant powers these operations by utilizing a sustainable energy source: the combustion of walnut shells, a readily available byproduct of local walnut processing.
Looking towards the future, Tracy Renewable Energy is constructing a new 7 MW power plant, also fueled by walnut shells. This expansion will significantly increase the facility's capabilities and diversify its impact. The electricity generated will serve multiple purposes: it will power the existing water cleaning and drying operations, contribute to the electrical grid, and, notably, be used to produce green hydrogen for use in zero-emission vehicles. This forward-thinking initiative positions Tracy Renewable Energy at the forefront of the green hydrogen economy.
The Tracy Chamber of Commerce recognized Tracy Renewable Energy's commitment to environmental stewardship with awards for Sustainable Best Practices in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Best Practices in Air Quality. These awards highlight the company's dedication to minimizing its environmental footprint and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable future for the Tracy community.
Tracy Renewable Energy is honored to receive these prestigious awards and reaffirms its commitment to the Tracy community and its pursuit of a sustainable future. The company is proud to contribute to the region's economic growth and environmental well-being through innovative and responsible practices.
